Owners John and Ame Flannery purchased the McKinstry building in September of 2005. With little funds and the help of many great friends and family members the transformation began immediately to make this building Flannery’s. Officially opening on December 9, 2005, Flannery’s immediately became a popular Dining destination in Mercersburg, PA.

With Ame’s background in accounting and John’s manufacturing and management experience, they decided in early 2005 that it was time for them to take a risk as entrepreneurs. Being told many times that nine of every ten restaurants fails, especially to those with no restaurant experience, they decided to press on, using that as no more than a motivating factor for success.

John’s passion to surround himself with passionate individuals has helped Flannery’s to build a world class staff with desire for success. John and Ame chose to pursue the restaurant business because of their personal enjoyment to dine. They felt that although there are many choices to dine in the area, there are not many choices that exceed the expectations of what true service and quality are.
